Andrew Carr is a senior lecturer in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University::Australian National University. His research focuses on strategy (especially temporal factors), Middle Powers, and Australian defence policy.
Biography
Carr holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Government from the University of Canberra, as well as a BA. Hons (1st) and a BA. Coms from the same institution. He is currently a senior lecturer in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University's College of Asia and the Pacific.
Carr's research projects include "Defending terra Australis," which explores how conceptions of Australia have both influenced and been shaped by defence strategy. He is also working on a multi-publication project, "Time and Strategy," which investigates the link between time and strategic behaviour.

Biography
Andrew N. Carr is a Senior Lecturer in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University. His research focuses on Strategy (temporal factors), Middle Powers and Australian Defence Policy. He has a PhD in Government from the University of Canberra, as well as a BA Hons and BA Coms from the same institution.
Carr's published works include articles in the Journal of Strategic Studies, Asia Policy, Australian Journal of International Affairs, and the literary journal Meanjin. He has also authored or edited several books, including a sole-authored manuscript, "Defending Terra Australis", which explores how conceptions of Australia have both influenced and been shaped by defence strategy.
Carr was the 2019 Fulbright Professional Scholar in Australian-U.S. Alliance Studies, based at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. He is also the editor of the Centre of Gravity policy paper series.
