Khaled Mostaguir

Khaled Mostaguir is a bioinformatics researcher with a PhD in proteomics data management and a background in chemistry and physics. He is currently a clinical trial data manager at the Centre de recherche clinique in Geneva, Switzerland, and previously worked in R&D at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB).

Education and Career

Mostaguir has a PhD in proteomics data management and a background in chemistry and physics from the University of Geneva (UniGE).

In February 2012, he joined the Centre de recherche clinique as a clinical trial data manager. He is responsible for managing data for several mono and multicentric studies at the cantonal, federal, and international levels. His duties include developing eCRFs (electronic observation notebooks), administering databases, and establishing and managing data security and quality processes. He also teaches best practices in clinical data management to clinical investigators at the HUG and students at UniGE.

Prior to joining the Centre de recherche clinique, Mostaguir worked in R&D at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB) from 2000 to 2011. During his time at SIB, he obtained a DEA and a doctorate in bioinformatics. He collaborated with various groups within SIB, including the Proteomics Informatics Group, Swiss-Prot, Protein Structure Group, and Vital-IT. He designed and managed several world-renowned projects, such as the World-2DPAGE proteomics platform and the SWISS-2DPAGE database. He also participated in global initiatives for standardizing life sciences data (HUPO) and taught programming and proteomics data management at UniGE. Additionally, he was part of the team responsible for the ExPASy reference server in molecular biology.
