Narayanan Borkakoti
Overview
Dr. Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti is an industrial economist and researcher of medieval Assamese literature and the Sankari culture. He is an Associate Professor of Economics at ADP College in Central Assam, and has written extensively on the 15th-16th century Assamese polymath, Sankaradeva.
Education and Career
Borkakoti has a diverse range of interests, including religion, literature, and culture. For the past 40 years, he has been researching the different aspects of Sankaradeva's life and works. He has translated some of Sankaradeva's scriptures and his disciple Madhavdeva's scriptures into English, and has penned the English novel "The Redeemer" based on Sankaradeva.
Borkakoti has written 65 books, with half of them focused on Sankaradeva. He has also written numerous research-based articles, which he uploads to the website of the Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva, of which he is a member.
