Shantanu Jain is a research scientist at the [[Institute for Experiential AI] [at Northeastern University], where he previously served as an associate research scientist at the Radivojac bioinformatics lab in the [[Khoury College of Computer Sciences] [/Northeastern University].]
Jain received his [[bachelor's in computer engineering] [from Nirma University] in [India] in [2008], before moving to the US to pursue graduate studies. He holds a [[PhD in computer science] and a [master's in statistics] and [computer science] from [Indiana University], where he graduated in [2016] with a [3.97 GPA] and received the [Graduate Research Award] for his research contributions.
Jain's research interests lie in the field of [[statistical modelling] and [machine learning],] with a focus on developing [[semi-supervised methods to address data constraints] and issues arising from [[biased estimates] and [missing labels] in binary classification.] He is also interested in solving fundamental problems in machine learning that arise from the [[constraints and demands of real-world data],] especially in the field of [[computational biology] and its applications in healthcare.
