Xi Zhang is a Full Professor and the Founding Director of the Networking and Information Systems Laboratory, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. He is also a Fellow of the IEEE for contributions to quality of service (QoS) in mobile wireless networks.
Zhang received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Electrical Engineering—Systems) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, US. He also holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, US, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Xidian University, Xi'an, China. Zhang obtained his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Xidian University, Xi'an, China.
Xi Zhang has published over 400 research papers on wireless networks and communications systems, network protocol design and modeling, statistical communications, random signal processing, information theory, and control theory and systems. He has received numerous awards, including:
